How To Apply, Tuition, Financial Aid PDF Print

Requirements for attending Expand Your Mind:
Expand Your Mind has a competitive application process involving the evaluation of grades, a teacher recommendation, and student essay.  Participants in the program attend only one course per session, and the application is reviewed for the particular course to which the student is applying.  MITY seeks applicants who demonstrate both academic talent and a passion for learning.  All the supporting material is considered.  Minnesota Institute does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, gender, disability, national or ethnic origin in administration of its education policies, admission policies, or financial aid programs.
Students in grades 7 through 11 during the 2011-2012 school year are considered for admission. No exceptions will be made to the grade restriction.  The grade restriction helps create a social environment that fosters interaction among peers and the formation of friendships that can extend beyond the program and an academic benefit by learning alongside others who are close in age and grade.

Tuition: Commuter: $560 per session        Residential: $1400 per session
Commuter tuition includes all instructional costs.  It does not include lunch; students should bring their own lunch and snacks, or they can purchase their lunch at the Campus Center grill or cafeteria.  Residential tuition includes instructional costs, supervised dorm room, entrance fees for weekend activies and meals.   A $280 commuter (or $700 residential) deposit  is required with the application; $25 of the deposit is non-refundable, the full $280 or $700 is non-refundable after June 1.  The balance of the tuition is due two weeks after you receive your acceptance package to ensure your spot in the class.
